Five Fast Food Fixes For a Flat Stomach

 

Here are some quick tips for a flat stomach. In addition to exercise, these little changes in your diet can help you get rid of belly fat.

1) Always eat breakfast : The one common link among skinny people is that they never skip breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day because it’s the first thing you consume after 6-8 hours of fasting while you sleep. You should never delay eating breakfast. Grab a Kashi cereal bar if you’re in a hurry, or down a fruit smoothie (it takes me 2 minutes every morning). Ideally, you should be eating a nice full breakfast (OATMEAL!). Don’t say ”yuck” just yet. Mix in some berries, a small banana and some raisins and you’ll have a great tasting bowl of oatmeal.

2) Always have a bottle of water with you: Staying hydrated helps to flush out harmful toxins in your body. It’s also a nice practice to drink a glass of water before your meals if you sometimes tend to overeat. Water will take up space in your stomach so you will eat less and feel fuller, faster.

3) Eat the skin of fruits : The skin of apples, grapes, cherries, and any type of berries  act like little scrubbing brushes that scrape the gunk off your intestinal walls. It’s part of the reason people “GO” when they eat fruit. Clearing out the goop out of your intestines will directly influence the size of your waistline because your intestines will no longer be clogged!

4) Go Green! – Leafy green veggies like lettuce do the same thing that the skins of fruit do – only better! Leafy greens never actually get broken down by the stomach. Instead, it gets crushed into  really fine pieces. Those fine pieces work its way through your bowels and scrub them clean!

5) Yo-Yo-Yogurt – Studies have shown that the high calcium content in yogurt may actually help block the storage of fat around the abdomen. However, make sure you choose a yogurt that isn’t loaded with sugar. Activia is good but still quite sugary. Try Biobes instead.

    I need to loose a bit of weight (ok-10 lbs) but it’s all above my hips! My stomach, my arms. my face, my back! Help me Kam, Help me! I don’t really have time to do alot of cardio -what about weights?

    Weight training is really good because it enables you to burn more calories even while doing nothing. Having more muscle allows your body to burn more calories throughout the day. Follow the five tips for your diet and look into taking up a weight training routine. If you’ve never weight trained before then it would be wise to get 2 personal training sessions with a trainer and have him show you a full body workout. You should learn the squat, lunge, deadlift, chest press and shoulder press. Those 5 exercises work the major muscle groups in your body. Start off with 2-3 days a week for 30 minutes, and make healthier eating choices and you should begin to see some changes.

    I actually do all 5 of them except I don’t exercise long enough- I have 3 kids + 1 husband! I will try the kettlebell workout. I really don’t have 30min to do cardio plus weight training or can I just do the weighttraining? I do eat pretty good- I guess I just have to watch my portions and desserts. I don’t drink sodas and eat chips etc.
    Mom just made some brownies-she’s not helping!

    If you eat well already, the weight trainnig will help. You also need to snack more often during the day. You should never go more than 3 hours between eating.

    hey, i have heard/read that you should drink water/liquids 30mins before/after meals. Something about digestive juices being washed away. or that it take the body a longer time to digest. Any truth to this?

    You shouldn’t drink loads of water or any liquid immediately after eating because it can interfere with the digestion process. Sipping liquid is fine. Drinking something before your meal if fine. I’m still no totally convinced that drinking liquids after your meal is bad for you because your digestive enzymes should be able to break down anything you consume, solid or liquid. But err on the side of caution and let a few minutes pass before drinking lots of liquid AFTER your meal.

  10. I’m a big fan of cholesterol. No matter how late I wake up, I love my breakfast. I see so many people that say oh I don’t have time for breakfast this n that. I mean you can grab a little bar and eat it on the way to work or something. Atleast something is better than nothing!

    Yeah! i am agree over the opinion that breakfast is vital for your health. A healthy and on time diet really works for you in losing you extra fat. I must suggest everyone for drinking water by the times during the day. It helps your stomach to digest well and keep its temperature and acidity level under the line. Thanks!

  12. Good tips here. I think the first one is the most important–breakfast. Research is showing that if you skip breakfast you’re more likely to eat too many calories later in the day.
